JJ Pugsley Joins the Bad Boy Team
JJ Pugsley's Jiu-Jitsu journey began at the age of 16 years old while living in San Diego, CA. He instantly fell in love with the sport and quickly found himself competing in local tournaments. As his training continued he began working with some of the best practitioners in the world. Through his competition in Jiu-Jitsu events over the years, he realized his desire to branch out and compete in MMA as well. In 2003, JJ Pugsley won his division at the Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Pan Ams and King of the Cage MMA events.
In 2005, JJ shifted his focus to teaching, giving him the opportunity to share his knowledge and love of Jiu-Jitsu with others. He began teaching and working with the original members of the Factory X fight team. After some time off from competition, JJ Pugsley missed the thrill of being on the mats. He decided that it was time for him to get back into the role of the competitor.
JJ Pugsley quickly rose back up the ranks. In 2013, JJ submitted all of his opponents in route to the final of the ADCC North American trials. After earning a silver medal in the trials, JJ was eager for more and set his sights on the world stage. In preparation for the 2017 trials, JJ Pugsley began his professional Jiu-Jitsu career with the Fight to Win Promotions organization. In the main event of their inaugural card, JJ faced off against the No-Gi World Champion, Joao Assis. He has also faced off against other great champions such as Rafael Davis and Carlos Farias. JJ looks to continue teaching and fighting under the elite Bad Boy banner for years to come!
