BadBoy Since

Stitch has a long history working in combat sports dating back to 1974 when he was teaching and studying martial arts in Thailand. He became a full time cutman when he moved to Las Vegas in 1995. At the time he focused on boxing with the occasional kickboxing match thrown in, but wasn’t ready to embrace the unregulated sport of MMA. It took an established set of rules and a personal invitation from newly named UFC President Dana White to lure him in.

Since then Stitch has rarely missed a UFC event. That’s not for lack of demand though. Longtime heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko (IBF, WBO, WBA (Super), and The Ring) doesn’t trust anyone else to be in his corner and flies Duran around the globe for every fight. He’s also the preferred choice for Olympic Gold Medalist and Super Middleweight champion Andre Ward (WBC, WBA (Super), and The Ring).

Old school boxing cutmen were hesitant to share their techniques simply for job security. Stitch disagrees and is doing his best to educate new cutmen to be the best possible for the sake of the fighters. He’s put out an instructional DVD called One More Round.
